Page indexing report analyzer: crawled – currently not indexed and other reasons
The Page indexing report tells you why pages aren't indexed, but not which templates produce them. The analyzer groups the exported URLs so you can fix causes instead of single pages.
Your data stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Key facts
- Search Console reports export as Google Sheets, Excel or CSV.
- An export is truncated to 1,000 rows of representative examples; the totals shown in the report are actual totals.
- “Crawled - currently not indexed” means the page was crawled by Google but not indexed; “Discovered - currently not indexed” means it was found but not crawled yet.
- “Alternate page with proper canonical tag” needs no action: the page correctly points to an indexed canonical page.

- Open the Page indexing report in Search Console and click a reason in the “Why pages aren't indexed” table.
- On the reason's page, export the examples (CSV is easiest).
- Here, pick the same reason, choose the file or paste the URLs, and click Add to analysis.
- Repeat for the other reasons you want to compare.
- Click Analyze, then download the list of URLs to recheck or the full analysis.
Where to get the data
Page indexing report export
Each reason has its own details page with example URLs and an export option. One export covers one reason, so add each file with its reason.
Any list of URLs
Lists from a crawler, a CMS export or the URL Inspection API work too: the tool takes every http(s) address it finds in the text or file.
Why look for patterns
Pages that aren't indexed usually come from a few templates: parameter URLs, pagination, tag and category archives, feeds, internal search results or files. Fixing the template, for example with a canonical, a noindex rule or by removing internal links, fixes every URL it produces.
What the reasons ask you to do
Some reasons need no action, such as alternate pages with a proper canonical, deliberate 404s or redirects. Others point to a decision: noindex and robots.txt blocks are fine if intended. Crawled or discovered but not indexed pages are the ones to improve, link internally and recheck.
Why the export is a sample
Search Console exports up to 1,000 rows of examples per report, so very large sites see a sample. Patterns found in a sample of 1,000 URLs still show which templates cause the problem.
Next step
After fixing the causes, read the guide on fixing “Crawled – currently not indexed” pages and recheck the URLs in bulk.
Questions and answers
Does the tool know the reason from the file?
No. Pick the reason before you add each export; the file itself only contains URLs and dates.
Which URLs end up in the “to recheck” list?
URLs listed under “Crawled - currently not indexed” or “Discovered - currently not indexed” that don't match parameter, pagination, archive, feed, search or file patterns.
Can I combine several properties?
Yes. Add exports from different properties; the folder table shows the host-free path, and the CSV keeps every full URL.
Is 1,000 rows enough?
It's a sample, but large groups and repeating patterns show up clearly in it.
